The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
