A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident
Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
